Meet Dr. Jeff Kleinberg — Virtual Therapy Practice Owner in California

Hi, I’m Jeff. Welcome to Suddenly Normal Psychotherapy.

I provide a supportive, confidential, and non-judgmental space to explore what brought you here. Whether you are new to therapy or returning, my intention is for you to feel seen, heard, and validated as a whole person.

Beginning therapy can feel daunting, especially when life feels overwhelming or unclear. My goal is to help you move toward steadiness, clarity, and meaningful change.

Since 2009, I’ve worked with adults across California facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, bipolar disorder, avoidance, stress, and more.

My integrative approach blends practical skill-building with deeper psychodynamic and philosophical work. Together, we look at the patterns that keep you stuck and develop new ways of living with purpose and vitality.

New Beginnings

If you’re struggling with painful emotions, lingering trauma, or a sense that something in life feels “off,” therapy can help you reconnect with what matters most.

I work from a diverse and inclusive lens, supporting:
• Executive and corporate leaders
• Veterans
• College students
• Adults from all racial, gender, orientation, and spiritual backgrounds

While I specialize in men’s issues, I welcome anyone who is seeking insight, personal growth, and long-term change.

Therapy with me isn’t scripted or one-size-fits-all. Together, we explore your experiences, uncover the loops and patterns that limit you, and build greater emotional flexibility, insight, and relief.

How I Work

Therapy is a collaborative process between you and me. My approach draws from several evidence-based and depth-oriented frameworks:

  • Psychodynamic Therapy: Understanding how early experiences shape present-day emotional patterns and relationships.
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Using mindfulness, values, and flexible thinking to guide action during difficult moments.
  • Buddhist Psychology: Cultivating awareness, compassion, and a capacity to respond instead of react.
  • Human Systems Theory: Seeing each individual within the broader context of family, culture, and environment.

I work exclusively with adults and offer online sessions that fit into busy lives. Most of my clients are men seeking deeper connection, emotional resilience, and authenticity in their relationships and daily functioning.

Collaborative Focus

We’ll clarify your core values, build on strengths, and identify habits or beliefs that no longer serve you. Using evidence-based methods, I help you transform self-criticism into curiosity, find steadiness in uncertainty, and move toward a more grounded, meaningful life.
